On July 15, 2026, Crime Si Poa (CSP), in collaboration with Nairobi-based Kenya Youth for Christ (KYFC) and Cooperative Bank’s Eldoret branch, conducted an integrated outreach program at Eldoret Women Prison designed to foster long-term personal restoration by addressing both the immediate emotional well-being and future financial independence of the facility’s residents. To set a welcoming and hopeful tone, the delegation opened the day with energetic musical performances, praise, and interactive sessions, creating a lively atmosphere that encouraged open participation before transitioning into structured workshops.
Following the musical introduction, facilitators from Cooperative Bank conducted a session on practical financial management tailored to life in custody, urging residents to build a habit of setting aside whatever small funds they receive and emphasizing that having even modest savings provides a critical foundation to rebuild upon release. Alongside financial guidance, Kenya Youth for Christ shared messages focused on faith, hope, and personal renewal, culminating in over 20 women making personal commitments to faith. The team also distributed religious literature to support ongoing spiritual growth, while extending compassion to the young children residing with their mothers inside the facility by providing them with snacks and treats.
The initiative earned warm praise from the facility’s leadership, with the Senior Officer present highlighting the value of addressing emotional, spiritual, and economic needs together rather than through isolated efforts, while expressing gratitude for the vibrant morning atmosphere that noticeably boosted morale across the compound.
For Crime Si Poa, this joint initiative underscores the importance of multi-sector collaboration in community rehabilitation, reinforcing its commitment to bringing together financial institutions, faith groups, and grassroots organizations to equip justice-involved individuals with the tools, resilience, and dignity needed for successful reintegration into their families and society.
