Peter Ouko
Founder / Executive Director
Peter (“Pete”) founded Crime Si PoaÒ while serving time for a wrongful conviction on death row at Kamiti Maximum Security Prison. His passion for justice for the marginalized and underserved, desire to end wrongful convictions and the safety of young people inspired him to set up the organization.

A TED Speaker, Pete is recognized as a leading name in the Kenyan criminal justice reforms space. With the Board and team, he has built the Crime Si PoaÒ brand as an innovative, responsive, highly impactful, youth-driven and youth-centric organization.
As Executive Director, Pete’s strategic leadership, ability to spot and invest in talent, and develop transformational leadership has led to highly impactful outcomes and rapid growth of the organization within the last two years.
Pete owes his resilient spirit to his upbringing with values-oriented parents, a closely-knit family, the organization’s program beneficiaries, and mentors.
He has previously served as a director of the Amnesty International Kenya chapter and Lead of the Social Justice program at Karen Vineyard Church.
