A journey toward safe repatriation. Facilitating Ms. Christine’s return home after challenging employment conditions abroad.
This case highlights a successful legal intervention on behalf of Ms. Christine, a Kenyan national who experienced severe labor rights violations and exploitation while employed in Saudi Arabia. Having traveled abroad under what was intended to be a standard employment agreement, Ms. Christine’s situation deteriorated rapidly upon arrival when her terms of employment were unilaterally altered without her knowledge, input, or consent. In addition to facing unauthorized reductions to her agreed-upon compensation, she was subjected to excessively long daily shifts without adequate rest periods or designated days off. The persistent physical strain, coupled with the psychological distress of being trapped in an abusive environment with restricted mobility, caused a severe decline in her overall health and well-being, prompting her to seek formal legal assistance to facilitate her departure.

Upon taking up the matter, our team established direct communication with her employer, Mdm. Abeer, to address the ongoing contractual breaches and demand an immediate resolution. Grounding our approach in contractual rights and cross-border labor protections, we negotiated Ms. Christine’s official release, ensured the processing of all necessary exit clearances, and oversaw the logistical arrangements required for her unhindered departure from Saudi Arabia. These targeted legal efforts successfully removed her from the hostile work environment and guaranteed her safe transit back home to Kenya.
Following her arrival, immediate priority was directed toward her stabilization and holistic recovery. She was promptly linked with qualified healthcare professionals to receive treatment for the physical ailments resulting from prolonged exhaustion and neglect, while simultaneously receiving targeted psychological support to assist her in processing the trauma associated with her experiences abroad. Through sustained advocacy and structured post-arrival care, Ms. Christine has made a full recovery, restored her physical health and emotional strength, and successfully reintegrated into her community, bringing this matter to a complete and satisfactory conclusion.
